First of all, try to work only with internal modulation sources ( Env, LFO, Math Opertions etc ).It´s confable to work with all else nice and easy Visual hyperdraw in Logic, Cubase and XXX on fat 30`inch FFT cinema displays/monitors.
...but they work only with a 128 Steps value. For great EMU-Filter Sweep this is like a Rolls Royce on bicycle´s wheels.

But let us have a look at the Modulation Matrix in the Emu, because the Maschine named "Emulator" . This name really makes sense.

Really interesting is that all 24 modulation Chords Amounts can be used as Destination. And there is one of the keys in Programming Presets/Sound.
So if you begin to Edit a Sound , better think only in 12 Chords , because they can Modulate by themselves.

If you have a MidiHardware Controller you , can build up to 24 Fader and Knops and can work with it like an old Hardware Synt. You can use it for Editing.

Try to study what there are really happens in the Modulation Chord Setup and your Experiment Brain wakes up of what can be done.

Puls-Modulation?. Yes, there is one, like in the old Analog Synths. It´s called here Sample-Loop. You find this Destnation in Cord Page named SLoop. you have up to 13-30ms. Refer my Metasynth Page to get all of out there.
